I own an older version and it has traveled all across the US and Latin America carrying either a 500mm f4 or 400mm f2.8 lens, 2 DSLR bodies, a flash, various lenses and accessories. It has held up well but is showing signs of tiredness. So I bought the Version 30l + V2.0 and am mostly pleased. I think that perhaps it needs some time to stretch? I tried to move my kit from the old bag to the new bag and I couldn't zip the new bag closed. The gear didn't fit the same. Perhaps the loss of depth due to the ability to carry a laptop is somewhat to blame? Time will tell. But there are features in the new bag I like. The ability to completely unzip the accessory pockets is nice. I do miss the ability to flip open the entire top flap which V2 can't do, but the strap to hold the flaps open is nice. The zippers are smoother and I think there has been improvements made to the backpack straps, although I seldom use those since I pack so much gear in the bag! I also found the new version is slicker and almost slid off the table I was working on. Perhaps field use will make the material roughen up a bit and be less slick.
This is substantial upgrade of my camera equipment backpack. Solid construction and plenty of customization option for my 2 cameras which include a large dslr and a full frame mirrorless with basic lenses. Unfortunately, I have to struggle to accommodate my sigma 150-600 lens if I put 2 cameras.
I’ve been looking for an SD card case that also fits my San Disk portable SSD and this one delivers! Nice XPAC material with sealed zippers. Great all in one weather resistant solution for portable storage when out on a shoot.
The Kiboko City Classic is designed very well. I especially like that the top zips open. This top part is well padded and I have used it to put in my Nikon Z6iii with a 24-120mm lens attached. That made it easy to get to the camera without having to open the back.
Another feature I like is that the camera bag will stand up and not topple over as other backpack camera bags that I had.
There is plenty of room to configure in the back section. Gura Gear give plenty of dividers to work with.
The shoulder straps are padded and very comfortable. One thing I would like to see changed is to have a way to attach a capture clip to the shoulder strap. I did get my capture clip on the strap by squeezing it on and using the screws included with the clip and that secured the capture clip and it works.
The 18L City Classic is a great bag and very well made.
I previously purchased the 13" which has limited use and probably could be discontinued in favor of the 16" which I purchased earlier this year but had to wait until the first week of October for delivery just in time for my New Zealand Trip. I used it without the insert as I found the insert took up too much space as I was using this as a partial camera bag and travel bag. Without the insert I could fit in the main pocket a Z9 Camera, 100-400mm Nikon lens, Swarovski 8x42 Binoculars, a toiletry bag, a cable bag with all my adaptors, plugs and cables along with some socks, underwear, T shirt and light rain jacket. I also carried a 13" Macbook Air, an iPad mini and other small items like sunglasses, reading glasses, passport. This stretched the bag but still allowed it to fit under the seat on the plane:-). This allowed me to put clothing, shoes and another long lens in a carry on suitcase.
I use my 16L as a quick go to bag when I can't take a lot of stiff. I carry in it my Nikon Z9 with 24-70 f/2.8, 600 f/6.3 PF, TS-14 converter and sometimes a 14-24 f/2.8. It all fits. So if I am going to do a speaking engagement and don't want to carry my 30L or 22 L on a plane,Ill take my 16 with some stuff. It gets used a lot. Quality is over the top as with all my Gura products
The build quality is superb as expected. Only thing it may be missing is an easy way to hang a rain jacket on the exterior. Easy enough to work around. The size is excellent and i think I can keep it under 17 lbs packed for more restrictive transportation and comfort.
I hope to one-bag the 16L+ in Southeast Asia this winter. In one side, I will pack my Olympus OM-1 w/ 300mm Pro lens for wildlife & birds and the EM10 w/ 14-42mm pancake lens for a back-up/street camera. Personal care items and Merino wool clothing will be in the opposite compartment. Cables, batteries and a charger will go in the lid compartments along with one sandal on each side. My 14" gaming laptop just fits but I hope to get a lighter model before the trip. I think I can also squeeze in a compact travel sling bag to use for my rain jacket and water bottle around towns.
Iv'e owned gura Gear products since 2010 and never looked back. These duffles are no exception and are of the highest quality. I expect they will last for a long long time. Great job guys
I have gone through so many different bags and companies before finally finding these bags. Just bought my 4th Gura bag and couldn't be happier. There is no other bag that fits so much in it, weighs so little and feels so great on back. Also thankful you matched it so perfectly to my adventure car!
This understated bag looks simple enough, but packs a technical punch for a reasonable price. I won't buy any other carry-on bag since traveling with my Mara duffel. It is so light, so durable, so water resistant and so meticulously manufactured, the idea of wheels on luggage now seems pointless. Professional but distinctive style, it holds more than the typical roller suitcase and fits in the overhead better.
The shear amount of space and the ability to carry exactly the gear I need at one time has me completely sold. Love the fabrics, zippers, and the flexibility to change its configuration on the fly. It's a perfectly comfortable size for me and has kept me organized better than any other bag or backpack I've used in the past.
Thanks for a great product!
Love this bag. Just received it last week. Packed a Z9 and Z 100-400 in the middle. section after taking out the insert and reinserting it with only one divider. Suggest 2 things. Include a snap buckle or velcro buckle to gather the 2 carrying straps together when holding the bag. Another suggestion would be an identification card holder which could be inserted in one of the small velcro pockets. Like a luggage ID without the strap. Michael Heller MD, Stuart Florida
I have had several bags which were okay but fell short as to what gear I could fit and not be cramped or fearful of some great being damaged. With this Gura bag I was able to carry all of my gear with the peace of mind that it was protected. In addition to being roomy, the zippers work flawlessly and there are plenty of pockets to stow small stuff. Finally, the way that half of the bag opens independently from the other half makes accessing what things you need without exposing everything is genius.
I have purchased countless camera bags in an effort to find that perfect bag. I had almost given up hope but thankfully decided to give it one more shot. Super glad I did since I finally found the perfect bag. This bag is well designed, light weight, fits all my gear, hides the backpack straps when not in use, and so much more. Kudos to GuraGear for creating such a great camera bag..
This is a high quality backpack that will Carr a lot of equipment, I’m very happy with my purchase
I also own the Kiboko 2.0 22L+ bag and have been using it for a few years. I've recently purchased a 600mm Nikkor Z TC and needed a bigger bag. I've been very happy with the 22L and the design, so I'm quite sure the 30L will fit the bill. The Nikkor Z 600mm fits perfectly along with a Nikon Z9 and Z8 body, 70-200, 24-70mm and 14-30mm lenses. I've owned quite a few bags in my career, but the Gura Gear bags are the best out there for sure!
Would like to know where my bag is. I still haven’t gotten it and they expect me to review it
It is the best material, fit and comfort. Is built for us in mind.
I bought to carry two z9s with 400, 2.8 mounted on one and a 24-70, 2.8 on the other for a trip to Africa next year. It will definitely hold what I am taking. When it arrived, I was impressed enough with the quality that I ordered a duffel bag for the same trip.
A nice addition to my traveling accessories to staying organized
I appreciate the rugged yet lightweight designe of the Gura Gear Kiboko 22L back pack. It's amazing what all fits in one small bag. Many of my smaller in counrty flights around Africa and India require smaller an lighter luggage and this bag helps fit the bill. I also like the buttefly zippered access to gear when working from the seat of the safari vehicle, no big floppy lid to deal with when space is at a premium.
