Kiboko 16L+ Camera Backpack

👍 What I liked about it

1. Extremely comfortable over long hikes
I carried around 10kg of camera gear for several hours, and what impressed me most was that I didn't end the day with aching shoulders. The weight distribution is excellent.

2. Wide shoulder straps and supportive waist belt
The combination of the wide shoulder straps and padded waist belt transfers much of the load off the shoulders, making long walks much more comfortable.

3. Shoulder straps don't dig in
Even with a heavy load, the shoulder straps never felt like they were cutting into my shoulders. The padding strikes a good balance between comfort and support.

4. Excellent water bottle holder
I really like the side pocket for my 700ml Thermos bottle. It holds the bottle securely, and the bag's side handle prevents it from slipping out while walking. If this was an intentional design choice, it's a very thoughtful one.

5. Secure tripod attachment
One small detail I appreciated was that the tripod straps stayed tight throughout the day. I never had to stop to retighten them, which isn't always the case with other camera backpacks.

6. Surprisingly compact
Despite carrying a full wildlife setup including a sizeable tripod attached, the backpack remains relatively slim. On narrow forest trails, I never felt like I was constantly brushing against vegetation or worrying about snagging the bag.

7. Excellent organization
The butterfly-style opening makes it easy to organize gear and quickly find what I need without unpacking everything.

8. Build quality
The overall build quality feels excellent, with durable materials, solid stitching, and zippers that inspire confidence for outdoor use. I was also impressed with the backpack's ability to handle wet conditions. During one outing, I was caught in a sudden tropical storm. The bag held up well, keeping my camera gear protected despite the heavy rain.

Things that could be improved

1. Internal retaining straps
The internal retaining straps sometimes get in the way when I'm taking equipment in and out quickly. They're useful for securing the 2 butterfly flaps together, but they tend to come loose from the small storage pocket and get in the way.

2. Waist strap storage
While the waist belt provides excellent support and comfort, it would be even more practical if it included a small zippered pocket on each side. This would be useful for keeping frequently used items such as a small torch within easy reach without having to remove the backpack.

After several outings with the Kiboko 2.0 30L+, I feel it strikes a great balance between comfort, capacity, and mobility, the three things which matter most to me when spending long hours in the field pursuing wildlife.

I honestly have not had a chance to use it yet. I purchased the Kiboko 2.0 30L+, because I wanted a bag to take on safari that could easily hold a Nikon Z8 and Z50II with a Z180-600mm and Z70-200II along with all accessories and still be sized for carry-on. I have used other Gura Gear bags for years (Chobe, Mara Duffel, and the City Classic 18L) They are extremely well made, useful and I can highly recommend them. Purchasing this bag was an easy decision. I expect it will serve me very well for many years to come.

I was looking for a small backpack that could meet European airlines rules for a "personal item". This bag, the smallest of the Kiboko range can hold in a very secure
and well-organized manner a surprising amount of gear.
