The GuraGear Kiboko 2.0 16L Backpack is the best bag for me as a travelling freelance photographer that focuses on outdoor lifestyle and adventure. Its small form factor and padded 3D mesh design on the back is perfect for hiking and long adventures with its breathability but the customizable build on the inside allows me to bring only the gear I need while leaving enough room to bring along extra accessories or clothing if I need. With multiple zip compartments throughout the front of the bag as well as the inside, I’m able to store all the small accessories like extra batteries, memory cards, notepads and more to make sure I have everything I need with me for the job. My favourite thing about the bag that provides me the most comfort is the easily accessible rain cover because my job frequently has me outside and in all kinds of weather.
The black Kiboko 2.0 16L Backpack from Gura Gear is designed to keep your mobile photo studio organized as you comfortably and securely carry it to your next destination. Its dual side-by-side camera compartments can each be dedicated to separate camera systems and their accessories using the backpack's adjustable partitions. While either camera compartment can be dedicated toward two DSLRs, two to three lenses and a shoe mount flash, the other can then be used to hold two mirrorless cameras, a flash, and up to three or four lenses.
A pair of side-by-side, front-facing zippered panels which fold open toward the center of the backpack provide individual access to the camera compartments. Together, a zippered mesh organizer pocket along the inside of each panel creates space for hard drives, portable batteries, camera filters, or small electronics within the camera compartments. Each panel also features an outer flap that can be unzipped and opened toward the center of the backpack, even when the panels remain closed, revealing two additional organizer pockets for items that need be accessed quickly and conveniently without exposing the contents of the camera compartments. The side-by-side compartments also mean that the footprint of the bag never changes unlike bags with a clamshell opening.
The Kiboko 2.0 16L Backpack can be carried using its built-in top handle, or by its adjustable, padded shoulder straps as the resilient and breathable 3D mesh padding along the outside rear surface cushions the wearer's back and shoulders. The padding's elevated structure optimizes air circulation, minimizing perspiration in warm and hot environments. For heavy loads, the adjustable sternum strap can be used to more evenly distribute the weight being carried. When the Kiboko 2.0 16L Backpack is worn, a dedicated, zippered compartment for a 13" laptop or tablet computer rests directly behind the shoulders, while along both sides of the backpack are two large, stretchable pockets with side-compression straps that can each hold and secure a water bottle. Alternatively, the pockets can be used to hold a tripod, monopod, or trekking pole; each can be further secured using the side-compression strap located above the pocket.
Constructed with X-Pac® VX-21, nylon and polyester material that is both durable and lightweight, the Kiboko 2.0 16L Backpack is built to be weather resistant and includes a seamless cover for use under heavy rain.
Sourced from high performance sailcloth manufacturer Dimension Polyant, X-Pac® VX-21 is some of the most durable, weather resistant and long-lasting material available. The combination of low-stretch, waterproof construction and 210 denier face fabric provides an ideal balance of weight and durability.
Dimension-Polyant’s proprietary sailcloth technology combines multiple layers for superior tear resistance, durability and the best strength-to-weight ratio on the market.
Every photographer knows that chasing light often means moving quickly. Sometimes that rushing leads to forgetting to close your bag all the way. Admit it, we have all done it. Version 2.0 of the Kiboko now includes sewn in blue bindings around both side flaps. This isn’t just for looks. If you see blue, you immediately know your bag is open. Small detail - Big impact.
A well constructed bag is nothing without hardware that is both dependable and easy-to-use. All Kiboko bags are outfitted with industry-leading YKK® zippers. Each main zipper slider has a pull that is glove friendly and the bright blue color makes them easy to see even in low light.
