Danny is based in the UK. He has had a deep fascination and passion for the natural world since a child. Danny first picked up a camera over twenty years ago and began documenting the beauty and fragility of the natural world, first using film cameras and then embracing the digital age. At first he travelled to many corners of Britain in search of images which offers a tremendous amount of scope with such a variation to the landscape and the wildlife. His favourite destination in the UK is the Shetland Isles, if the weather conditions are right it is a wildlife photographer's dream, with vast seabird Colonies and northern specialties there is always something to photograph. In 2002 he started to travel further afield looking for subjects that was proving difficult to photograph in the UK. That first trip saw him spend six weeks travelling around Norway and Sweden and this was the start of a project that has saw him go back to Scandinavia many times since. His goal was to document the beautiful nature of northern Europe for his first book The Long Journey North. This project took him to some of the most beautiful regions of the far north from the Boreal forests of Finland to the High Mountains of Norway, from the wet tundra bogs of Iceland to the wild coasts of Scotland. He has won many awards for his photography in some of the world’s most prestigious competitions like Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Natures Best and the European Nature Photographer of the Year. In 2012 he was chosen to represent the world of nature photography for Canons Ambassador programme as an explorer. This programme embraces many different genres of photography from the world of fashion, sport and nature photography. He was chosen to be part of the Wild Wonders of Europe team.
